Bernini, Gianlorenzo
(12/7/1598 Naples- 11/28/1598 Naples) (Italy)
   Sculptor, architect, painter, and restorer. One of the major artists of the 17th century, he strongly influenced the development of the Italian Baroque. His "Ecstasy of St Teresa" is frequently discussed as an example of religious eroticism.
